Ex-President and leader of Zimbabwe’s liberation movement and independence from Britain Robert Mugabe is unable to walk.
This was revealed by his successor and current President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa.
According to him, “Mr Mugabe has been in Singapore for treatment for an undisclosed illness for the past two months.”
Robert Mugabe also made several such medical trips to Singapore while he was President.
“He is now old. Of course, he now is unable to walk but whatever he asks for we will provide,” the AFP news agency quotes him (President Mnangagwa) as saying. He added that Mugabe was getting better and would be back to the country next week.
“We are looking after him. He is the founding father of the nation of Zimbabwe. He is our founding father of free Zimbabwe,” the president added, AFP reports.
The government is paying for Mr Mugabe’s treatment.
