Rinsola Abiola Declares for House of Rep

Rinsola Abiola has declared to represent Abeokuta North/Obafemi Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representative.

Rinsola Abiola has in the past 5 years involved in ensuring youth and woman participation in the political space of Nigeria. She is also one of the pioneer founding members of the APC Youth Wing even though she is no longer a card member of the party.

Rinsola Abiola is the daughter of Chief MKO Abiola (GCFR) who won the annulled June 12 elections of 1993.

In her declaration notifying her social media followers;

Dear friends,  I wish to formally notify you of my desire to represent Abeokuta North/Obafemi Owode/Odeda federal constituency in @HouseNGR on the platform of @ADPng in 2019, God willing. #RinsolaForReps

This decision was reached after months of careful thought and extensive consultations, and is predicated upon the strong conviction that my people deserve dutiful representation. I am prepared & fully equipped to provide this. #RinsolaForReps

I feel deeply connected to my people as I spent most of my formative years in Ogun state. I got most of my education in Abeokuta (primary, secondary and tertiary) and I have voted in my hometown since I became eligible to vote; Ogun Central has always been home. #RinsolaForReps

For 3 years, I have worked as a Special Assistant to the Speaker of @HouseNGR, Hon @YakubDogara. I’ve keenly observed parliamentary proceedings & if elected, the experience garnered will enable me get to work immediately without needing to first ‘learn the ropes’. #RinsolaForReps

My aspiration is made possible by the recently enacted #NotTooYoungToRun law, a campaign I actively participated in. #RinsolaForReps

I have consistently advocated for youth and women inclusion, and I believe that there is no better way to transition from tokenism to meaningful inclusion than to utilise this law by running for office. #RinsolaForReps

Presently, youths & women aren’t represented in the Ogun state caucus of @nassnigeria. This is a travesty. As stakeholders & active citizens, we deserve representation at the highest levels as we also possess the skill set required to bring about positive change. #RinsolaForReps

If elected into @HouseNGR, I pledge to use all legislative tools at my disposal to address the infrastructural needs of Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda LGAs. #RinsolaForReps

As a legislator, my areas of focus shall include health care, agriculture, youth and women empowerment and restructuring through constitution amendment. I hope that as always, I can count on your support. Thank you.  #RinsolaForReps #OmoAkin2019
