PMB’S MEETING WITH CATHOLIC BISHOPS

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday had a closed-door meeting with 16 Catholic Bishops in the Presidential Villa.

The Bishops who visited under the auspices of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria was led by their President  Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama, with other top delegates like Cardinal Onaiyekan; Bishop of Sokoto,  Matthew Hassan Kukah;  Archbishop of Benin City, Augustine Akubeze, and Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Godfrey Onah.

The visit was based on the recent menace that has been unleashed by the Fulani cattle herdsmen across the country.

The Catholic Bishop of Uromi also appealed to the President to tackle this cruelty that is being meted out by these herdsmen.

The meeting had in attendance, Vice-President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, and Secretary to State Government, Babachir Lawal. Other Catholic Bishops include; Cardinal Onaiyekan; Bishop of Sokoto,  Matthew Hassan Kukah;  Archbishop of Benin City, Augustine Akubeze, and Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Godfrey Onah.
