A former presidential aide to President Goodluck Jonathan Reno Omokri has responded to the recent invitation of Senator Ademola Adeleke for exam malpractice and conspiracy. Senator Adeleke is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Saturday gubernatorial elections in Osun State.
Senator Adeleke was invited by the police in a statement by the Nigeria Police Spokesman, Jimoh Moshood.
In the statement, the police alleged that “Senator Adeleke and Sikiru, his brother, sat for the National Examination Council Examination (NECO) as internal candidates in 2017, “impersonating” students of OJO/Aro Community Grammar School in Osun state.” (Daily Post).
He is being invited for immediate arraignment in court.
In his tweet, Reno Omokri said “I am rather impressed at the effort the @PoliceNG put into investigating Senator Adeleke’s WAEC certificate. I just wish the Nigerian Police had also put in the same diligence in investigating President @MBuhari’s WASCE Certificate.
”@HMKemiAdeosun admits to forgery and is escorted to Abuja airport to board a flight to London. Senator Adeleke is accused of forgery and is asked to report to @PoliceNG for court arraignment days to Osun election. Meanwhile, Buhari can’t explain the whereabouts of his certificate.”
There is a dangerous trend that is symptomatic of how hopeless the assembly line literacy program we call education has been. People would rather want to sound “Woke” than demonstrate their ability to think independently. I wake up daily to read torrential depressing requests for money/Jobs.
Yet we come on Twitter hoping to see quality and superior arguments but all you see littering the space is a “wokish” culture of emotive people indoctrinated by Neo-liberalism. I’m always glad when once in a while some folks grace the space with quality debates on socio-economic issues and superior argument that educates readers void of sentiments, emotions and blackmail as a defence for lack of point or counter. These folks are a breath of fresh air.
