Kenya is set to vie for a non-permanent seat at the United Nations (UN) Security Council.
The vote is coming in mid-2019.
The Kenyan cabinet has approved the plan and a strategy has been worked out to lobby members for the seat at the UN Security Council.
If Kenya wins this position by this year, it will increase their influence in International decision making particularly in the area of peace and security for their country and within the African region.
Kenya with this position will join the other five permanent members of the UN security council in the next two years in key decision making.
