Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun has left Nigeria after resigning from her position.
This new development was revealed to Premium Times on Saturday evening.
Mrs. Adeosun resigned her position as Finance Minister after owning to using a forged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Certificate of exemption.
The investigation into the forgery case was uncovered by Premium Times and after 69 days President Muhammadu Buhari accepted her resignation.
In her letter of resignation, Kemi Adeosun expressed her gratitude to President Buhari while explaining that she was not aware that the Certificate she has been using for many years was forged.
A source close to Premium Times said “She has left the country. She most likely is in the UK by now.”
Mrs. Adeosun was born and raised in the UK.
She was also called by Premium Times and Telecoms experts who confirmed that the phone rang in the Europe internal ringing effect.
Various civil rights groups have been calling for her to be prosecuted on the grounds of forgery.
