With the suspension of the Nigeria Air operations scheduled to begin in December 2018, former Cross River Governor Donald Duke has described it as “ill-conceived against the advice of competent experts”.
Mr Duke is running for Presidency under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In his tweet, Donald Duke said that Buharinomics (Buhari’s economics for Nigeria) is at its worst.
The journey to greatness is still on, the fight for social justice and equity continues, the work of redefining our democracy and its values is one that needs completion and in good time. The future awaits us, posterity beckons, children hope; the unborn expect a better life and the responsibility to uplift all in Nigeria is a huge one. Desperation sets in; sometimes it looks like the powers that be are greater than the good in the land but one must hope, do, act in the right direction that this nation might live. Threats of secession and breakup still brew from different quarters, embers of divisions are being fanned by obvious circumstances, we know the root causes of our infighting; but how willing are we to do the needful and make the tough and hard choices.
There is no doubt that we need a new kind of revolution for us to be able to reset and re-jig our systems in Nigeria. A new kind of revolution that will really touch the basic tenets of building a viable, sustainable and prosperous nation.
