Osun: How Davido Influenced the Guber Election

One of Africa’s biggest artist David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has proved that celebrities can make a lot of difference in the electoral process, governance and issues bothering on our democracy.

He showed this with the support of Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who also is his uncle.

Many might say that he couldn’t have done otherwise but truth be told, ‘MrAssurance’ has always been connected with the real issues of governance and politics. From his belief and actions of lifting others and supporting other people’s dreams, Davido has wielded his influence beyond music into the political stage.

With the NYSC and Kemi, Shittu saga, you can agree that the ‘Gobe’ master has changed the game were other artists choose to be laid back or paid to support a candidate; whether good or bad.

He said this during the swearing-in of the new appointees in his cabinet. He also responded to the state of the roads in the state saying that the heavy rains might be acidic to be destroying the roads.

“This administration will end stronger. Let me tell you, the remaining seven months left for me I will do the same I did in seven years in office.

“I will repair all the schools in the state, I am sorry for some of you who say that I have destroyed all the roads. It is because of the unprecedented rainfall. I wonder if the rains are acidic. I assure you that we will put them in order.
