In less than a week, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and former Vice-President and 2019 Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar have been engaging each other after the former spoke about restructuring.

Yemi Osinbajo while the in the US said Nigeria’s major problem is not a matter of geographical restructuring.

Atiku gave a response on why Nigeria must undergo restructuring which received a response by Osinbajo.

Atiku has another response below.

My attention has been drawn to a letter written to Premium Times in response to an essay on restructuring authored by me.

The Exchange on Restructuring Continues As @Atiku Replies @ProfOsinbajo

Restructuring Nigeria dominated the polity of Nigeria for quite some time and it will form the basis for the discussions and debates ahead of the 2019 General elections. Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has been consistent about his views on why Nigeria needs to be restructured and he has yet again penned down his thoughts on why we truly need to restructure. Find out more below;

In a recent interaction in the United States, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo asserted that the “problem with our country is not a matter of restructuring…and we must not allow ourselves to be drawn into the argument that our problems stem from some geographic re-structuring”.

It is a surprise that the Vice President would take such a position and, in particular, fail to appreciate the connection between Nigeria’s defective structure and its underperformance.

It is unhelpful to reduce the construct of “Restructuring” to a geographical concept as VP Osinbajo does, which in itself demonstrates a lack of appreciation of the core tenets of the concept.

Atiku Writes on Why Nigeria Needs Restructuring

Following the resounding defeat of his son-in-law Uche Nwosu Rochas Okorocha has responded to this.

According to Imo state outgoing governor Okorocha;

“Alhaji Gulak escaped with the materials to Abuja to write results in favor of Hope Uzodinma…a Party I brought to Ndi Igbo and have been funding since then. I will teach the APC some bitter lessons….I am not a coward, they’ll hear from me soon.”

Alhaji Gulak was the returning officer for the Imo APC primaries.

The victory of Hope Uzodinma a seating Senator ahead of Uche Nwosu, Okorocha’s selfish ambition of installing his daughter’s husband might have come to a premature end before the general elections in 2019.
