The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar will today meet prominent leaders from the five States in the South-East region of Nigeria in Enugu.
Atiku Abubakar will be addressing the South-East leaders in the company of his running Peter Obi.
At the time of filing this press time, a meeting known as Nkpoko Igbo was already ongoing at Nike Lake, Enugu.
Those who joined the meeting are; President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, joined the meeting midway.
Those in attendance were Sen. Ben Obi, Prof. Ben Nwabueze, Sen. Chris Anyanwu, Chief Achike Udenwa, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, Prof. Anya O. Anya, Emeka Ugwu-Oji, Amb. Frank Ogbuewu, Amb. Lawrence Nwuruku, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Prof. A.B.C. Nwosu, Prof. Uche Azikiwe, Amb. George Obiozor and former Ohanaeze President-General, Chief Gary Igariwey.
Others included Lt.Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika (rtd), Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), Prof. Osita Ogbu, Dr Okwesileze Nwodo, Chief Felix Mgbada, Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa, Prof Walter Ofornagoro, Commodore James Anieke (rtd), Chief Abel Chukwu, Prof Amuche Azi, Prof. Uzodimma Nwala, Amb. Lawrence Agubuzo, Chief Adolphus Wabara, among others.
The meeting will be chaired by the renowned constitutional lawyer, Ben Nwabueze and will focus on the restructuring of Nigeria and the agenda for the Igbo in 2019 as its main thrust.
